Nine participants braved the brutal heat on Saturday morning to attend our tree walk at
Tudor Place in Georgetown. Suzanne Bouchard, Director of Gardens and Grounds, led the tour. The historic site's large tree canopy not only made for an interesting tour, it also provided much-appreciated shade. The group, which included four
Citizen Foresters, learned about the history of the grounds and several unique trees including a 200-year old tulip tree (
Liriodendron tulipifera) that was voted D.C.’s Millennium Tree.
